"I am now working in Public Health and in Health Improvement but I have also worked in areas like Transport, in Finance, in Education and on European matters.

I think the Scottish Government is unrecognisable from the organisation it used to be a few years ago, it's now a much faster-paced organisation. It's a really rewarding atmosphere in which to work, colleagues are supportive, there is a very flexible employment package available. There are also a number of facilities, for example sports and leisure facilities in most of our premises. Salaries are competitive, but I think the rewards go much further than that.

I think that working for the Scottish Government as a Senior Leader demands a lot of you and when you achieve results, like improving Scotland's health, like modernising Scotland's transport system, the reward is really great."
